Through the Twitter Circle, tweets sent can only be seen by individuals who are included in a small private circle. This allows secret or non-public sharing to be done more securely. But as TechCrunch reports, a bug on Twitter resulted in Circle tweets being visible to everyone in the For You timeline.
Twitter has yet to issue any statement regarding this bug. It has happened several times and to ensure your safety it is recommended not to use Circle at this time for more private sharing. Previously the Circle bug just didn't include an icon that said the tweet was private and could only be seen by a small number of users.
Since being taken over by Elon Musk, Twitter, which has been less problematic, has been dealing with various issues such as interrupted services and dangerous content not being removed as quickly as possible.
