Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has now announced that DuitNow and NETS QR have been linked, allowing tourists from Singapore to pay with DuitNow QR by scanning NETS QR, while Malaysians traveling to Singapore can pay there by scanning NETS QR codes through digital wallets that support MoneyNow QR.

For information, DuitNow QR is a solution used in Malaysia for payment purposes by simply scanning a QR code. In Singapore, the offering is more or less known as NETS QR.

BNM stated that this integration between countries supports payments between countries by scanning the QR code at the seller, as well as supporting e-commerce transactions between countries.

Currently, local digital wallets that support payments in Singapore by scanning the NETS QR code there include AmBank Malaysia Berhad, Boost, CIMB Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Malayan Banking Berhad, Public Bank Berhad, Razer Merchant Services Sdn. Bhd., TNG Digital Sdn. Bhd. and United Overseas Bank Malaysia Berhad.
