The Credit Counseling and Management Agency (AKPK) confirmed that their IT system had been hacked by cybercriminals. The stored data may have been accessed illegally by this party and therefore AKPK decided to temporarily deactivate some of their operating systems to prevent further risks.
AKPK is giving priority to dealing with this situation and working with the relevant authorities continuously. Measures to protect data servers have been taken and an investigation has started with cyber security experts. AKPK has received and rejected the ransom demand, which is an action agreed upon by the relevant authorities and experts.
AKPK system operation will be gradually restored as soon as it is safe to do so. To customers because the online system is currently disrupted, they are advised to contact AKPK via 03 2616 7766 or go to Facebook to find the nearest AKPK branch.
