Dyson, the ventilation technology company famous for their fans and also their wireless vacuum cleaners also introduced a quite unique product last year called the Dyson Zone.
The Dyson Zone incorporates a traditional headphone design as well as a visor and these two components combine to draw air into the headphone area. It is equipped with two filters, where the first is an electrostatic filter that will capture particles as small as 0.1 micron such as dust, pollen and so on. The second filter is a carbon filter that traps gases such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide that are often in the air in urban areas.
It has the ability to operate up to 50 hours in headphone mode only. But if the air filter and headphones are used simultaneously the battery life will shrink to between 90 minutes to 6 hours depending on the power level of the air filter fan.
Dyson was supposed to start selling the Dyson Zone headphones earlier this year, but possibly due to production issues, it has only just started selling them in select markets, including the United States.
According to Dyson, these headphones come in a choice of satin silver and ultra blue or prussian blue and ultra blue at a price of $999. Looking at the Dyson Malaysia website, the headphones are shown, but have not shown the price tag yet.
