E3 2023 Event Canceled And May Not Return

Since 1995, the Electronic Entertainment Expo event or better known as E3 has taken place with it being the main platform for video games to be announced by major companies. Today the ESA which is the organizer of E3 announced that this year's event is officially cancelled.

The decision was taken after major companies such as Ubisoft and Devolver Digital confirmed they would not be attending this year's event. Previously Sony, Nintendo and Xbox have also pulled out to hold their own events. With most announcements being made online and demos being given directly to consumers, it makes physical events like E3 no longer compatible with current needs and costly to publishers.

E3 is completely canceled in 2020 due to Covid-19. In 2021 it returned as a digital-only event before again being canceled for free in 2022.
