Google Find My Device Will Be Able To Track Devices That Have Been Turned Off Like Apple Find My

The device tracking feature should be credited to Apple because even if the Apple Watch, iPhone or iPad has died due to being turned off or running out of battery the device can still be found with the Find My system. This is a drawback on Android devices because a lost device can only be found if it is actively connected to the internet and powered on.

Soon all this will change because Google is reportedly developing this Apple-like feature. Coming soon this feature will be limited to Pixel devices through the Pixel Power-Off feature.

This feature is still in development but some details have been obtained. For example if the user wants to use it make sure the location setting on the device is always on, Find My Device is enabled, the Google account has been synced on the device and the details can be seen in the Play Store.

This feature will most likely be introduced along with the launch of Grogu's product codename of object trackers such as Apple AirTag. Google is also building a network of Android devices so that all can be tracked and can also use UWB technology later.
