The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) is now reminding the public to be wary of fraud and scams involving the sale of Raya shirts online, through social media.
Through the partnership of the government, it was found that the fraudster made advertisements for baju raya with cheap offers on social media, and attracted victims to make payments to individual accounts.
Next, when the victim inquired about the status of the delivery, the scammer informed that there was a delivery restriction and asked to make an additional payment.
These scammers will also later change their identity to other accounts on social media when the victim realizes they have been scammed.
The public is asked to be careful when making online purchases, including checking business information first, and making sure their business is registered with SSM.
