Maybank has previously added a "Kill Switch" feature for Maybank2U and MAE users - allowing users to temporarily deactivate their account access, thus preventing any transaction from taking place.
This feature was introduced in an effort to make it easier for users to block their banking accounts in case of any suspicious transactions.
Through this feature update, Maybank now also allows users to temporarily block the use of credit cards and charge cards if they suspect their cards have been compromised or there are suspicious transactions.
Maybank users can access this feature through the Maybank2U web or MAE application.
After blocking it, customers can only reactivate the card by verifying themselves at the nearest branch, or through customer service at 1300 88 6688.
