Modified NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 With 16GB Memory Shows Impressive Performance

An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card typically comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, which is powerful enough to run most games at 1440p resolution and a refresh rate of around 80-90FPS depending on the game's settings.

Recently, an individual, Paulo Gomes, has modified an RTX 3070 graphics card to load another 8GB of new memory, and in short, this improves gaming performance at a rather abrupt rate, for example, Resident Evil 4 Remake can be played at very high settings , with total FPS from less than 60FPS on the original graphics card to around 80FPS with the RTX 3070 graphics card with 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

The process to modify this graphics card is also seen as something complicated because adding memory to a graphics card is not as simple as soldering the component to the circuit board of the graphics card. The memory must be soldered to a new circuit board, which is then just installed on the graphics card circuit board.

NVIDIA previously came up with plans to show off an RTX 3070 graphics card with more VRAM memory, but it never did. The addition of VRAM is only shown through the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card which now comes with 12GB of VRAM GDDR6X which allows this graphics card to be driven at a higher refresh rate and more powerful settings.
