The Huawei laptop line is updated with a new variation through the MateBook D14 2023 and MateBook D16 2023. Both are given a new lease of life to work well through Intel Raptor Lake CPU support which reaches up to Intel Core i9-1390H.
Starting with the design, both laptops feature a metal body with thin bezels surrounding the screen. This is coupled with a full-sized keyboard with built-in backlight support which is very useful for use in low-light areas. In this year. Huawei is also back to using the FHD webcam built into the keyboard.
As the name suggests, a 14-inch screen is used on the MateBook 14 2023, then the screen on the MateBook 16 2023 is actually 16-inches. Both use the same IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 X 1200 pixels, while also offering a built-in eye protection mode.
CPU options up to Intel Core i9-1390H are provided with matching Intel Iris Xe GPUs. Memory is up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM, internal storage 1TB SSD M.2 2280 and runs Windows 11 which offers a brand new interface. Not only that, it is also loaded with enhanced multitasking features along with better security.
The battery capacity is different which is 56Wh used on the MateBook D14 2023. Then it increases to 60Wh which is included on the MateBook D16 2023. Both also support the Huawei SuperCharge 65W technology which is advertised to be able to fully charge in half an hour only.
Complementing this laptop are also two speakers with Dolby Atmos support. In addition to dual built-in microphones with noise cancellation for clearer audio quality. I/O options consist of 1 X USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, 1 X USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1 X USB-A 2.0, 1 X HDMI and 3.5mm audio jack.
The sale price of the MateBook 14 2023 starts at RMB5099 (~RM3,290), then increases to RMB5699 (~RM3,678) for the MateBook 16 2023 with a basic configuration. No information on global market availability is known so far.
