Proton has now shared that it will accelerate the production of their electric vehicles, possibly as early as 2025.
The latest sharing by Proton's Deputy CEO shows that it has been accelerated by 2 years compared to the previous target of 2027.
Proton is currently in the process of identifying a suitable model, which is more affordable and practical. This is being done with Geely in an effort to further accelerate this project.
Meanwhile, starting later this year, Proton will also market the Smart #1 electric car produced by another party, namely Smart for the Malaysian market.
