Today Xiaomi Malaysia has launched the Redmi Note 12 series after months of waiting for the presence of this device in the local market. This time their offer looks attractive and tries to force users to buy models with the highest specifications. This is because Xiaomi has differentiated between the premium category and the middle and basic. Cheap models lose many interesting features and functions.
The camera is also 200MP, 120Hz AMOLED screen and charging reaches 120W. Here are the three Redmi Note 12 devices that arrived in the Malaysian market.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G
The device uses a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can also display Dolby Vision content. Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is powered by a Dimensity 1080 chip paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device also runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
For the camera configuration, this device uses 200+8+2 Megapixels on the back and a 16 Megapixel camera for selfies. The battery size is 5000mAh with 120W HyperCharge fast charging support. Audio support is through Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. The Note 12 Pro+ also has infrared sensor support, NFC, IP53 protection and a 3.5mm audio jack port.
Although the device uses an OLED screen, the fingerprint scanner is the physical type on the side that comes along with the power button. The design of the device is flat all around, using simple colors, a familiar camera bump and easy to handle.
Redmi Note 12 5G
Most of the specifications are more or less the same. The screen remains the same size 6.67″ AMOLED 120Hz. Only this device does not support Dolby Vision and the audio uses mono speakers and no Dolby Atmos. The chip is Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 with 5G support paired with 8GB of RAM memory and 256GB of internal storage.
Protection support also remains IP53, NFC and a 3.5mm audio jack are also present. The camera is 48+8+2 Megapixel and the selfie camera is 13 Megapixel. For the battery it has a capacity of 5000mAh with 33W charging. Others including the design look more or less the same except for the color choice.
Redmi Note 12
Still the same as the 5G model, the only difference this time is the chip that uses the Snapdragon 685 with only 4G network paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM memory with 128GB internal storage. While the camera is better than the 5G model which is 50+8+2 Megapixel and the selfie camera is 13 Megapixel. The battery and charging are also the same as the above model.
For the selling price in Malaysia, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is sold at a price of RM1599 with a choice of White, Sky Blue, Midnight Black colors for 8/256 GB. The Redmi Note 12 5G 8/256 GB also has Onyx Gray, Forest Green, Ice Blue color options at a price of RM1099. Finally, Redmi Note 12 8/128 GB at a price of RM799 with Onyx Gray, Mint Green and Ice Blue color options.
