SpaceX attempted to launch the Starship spacecraft into space yesterday as the first step to begin their missions to the moon and Mars. But this historic test was postponed after there was an issue with the fuel system of the Super Heavy rocket used.
The launch was delayed 9 minutes before launch time after a pressure issue with the rocket's fuel tank was detected. Although it failed to launch, yesterday's test was used to raise funds for how fuel can be transferred into the most powerful rocket ever produced in history. SpaceX will now try to launch on April 20.
A total of 33 Raptor rockets are used on the Super Heavy which provides almost twice the thrust of the Space Launch System for the Artemis Mission. In addition to being the most powerful rocket, the Starship and Super Heavy systems are also the tallest rockets in the world, reaching 119 meters.
Starship will be the spaceship that takes private SpaceX astronauts to the moon with the previously announced mission Dear Moon. It will also be the vehicle to bring their first astronauts to the surface of Mars later.
