The Garmin Instinct 2X Solar Is a Charge-Free Smartwatch With a Bigger Screen

Garmin is here with another new smartwatch through the Instinct 2X Solar. It is a larger variation than the previous Garmin Instinct 2 Solar. At the same time, it is also able to function well in various scenarios without battery limitations with the help of solar.

It needs at least 50,000 lux lighting for three hours a day to keep working without needing to charge. Otherwise it can last up to 40 days longer than the 28 days on the previous Instinct 2 Solar with smartwatch mode.

Various built-in health and fitness functions are also loaded on this watch. However, the support of several additional sports modes such as running, swimming, climbing, stress training and cycling has given this new variant an added advantage.

In addition, it also comes with a built-in LED flashlight, which is very useful when running at night. It can emit a red light for safety purposes. Then it can also be changed to white which can be used for vision purposes at night.

A brand new multi-band GNSS sensor is used to provide accurate positioning in GPS and Trackback modes. It also passes the 10 ATM waterproof rating, and is also available in the Tactical Edition variant with the advantage of Stealth and Jumpmaster modes for better functionality.

The selling price for the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar is $449 (~RM1976), then increases to $499 (~RM2,196) for the Tactical Edition. Information about its availability in Malaysia is still unknown at this time.
