ChatGPT has had a huge impact on several careers such as writers. His ability to produce fast works based on text input alone is terrifying. Even more troubling is that there have been incidents of ChatGPT being used by students to delay producing homework or specific work required in class.
Turnitin which is a plagiarism detection service has been improved with the ability to detect essays produced by artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT. According to them, the accuracy of detecting essays not written by humans reaches 98%.
Although this AI essay-tracking capability has just been activated, Turnitin says efforts have been made since GPT3 was announced. A two-year effort was made by Turnitin because it realized the impact of artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT on the academic world.
This feature can already be used on existing Turnitin products such as Turnitin Feedback Studio (TFS), TFS with Originality, Turnitin Originality, Turnitin Similarity, Simcheck, Originality Check and Originality Check+.
