Twitter No Longer Tells Blue paints Is Legacy Or Bought

So far, blue paint on Twitter accounts is only given to users who are really members or famous. It is given after going through Twitter Verification which is very sloppy. With Twitter Blue, anyone can now get blue by making a payment.

But other users can still track who bought it by pressing the blue smear icon on the profile. Starting today Twitter has made a change where if the blue checkmark icon is pressed, it will tell users it may be because of a Blue subscription or because it is the old Twitter Verification checkmark. With this the negative connotation associated with you buying Blue can no longer be confirmed as it is difficult to differentiate.

Since yesterday, the legacy blue smear has started to be removed and it is only given to Blue customers. According to Elon the removal will be done manually and in stages.
