Vivo X Flip has been officially launched in China today. It is the debut of the first clamshell foldable screen smartphone from Vivo. From the design aspect, the elements used are more similar to an Oppo Find N2 Flip. This is matched by a large secondary screen reaching 3-inches but it is placed horizontally with curved sides.
This large secondary screen can be used for various purposes. For example, such as music playback, NFC, reading notifications or being used as a display for taking selfies using the main camera. It improves when the device also supports options like Flex Mode for use with touchless devices.
The main screen is 6.74-inches which also contains a small hole in the middle for placing a 32MP selfie camera. Both screens use AMOLED panels with different refresh rates that reach 120Hz for the main screen. Meanwhile, the secondary screen is limited to 60Hz.
Next, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip is used with 12GB of RAM and internal storage of up to 512GB. A 50MP primary camera with OIS along with a 12MP ultra-wide lens is included on the device. The battery capacity is 4400mAh with a 44W fast charging system.
Other specifications include running OriginOS13 based on Android 13, side fingerprint scanner, USB-C port connectivity and built-in 5G network. The device is sold in China at a starting price of RMB 5,999 (~RM3,869).
