WhatsApp is now introducing some additional security features when users want to switch to another device - thus providing more protection to their respective accounts.
Through this new feature, when the user transitions to a new device, the user will need to verify the old device first as an additional security check. The user will be presented with a notification saying there is an attempt to transfer the account to another device – and will be asked to confirm or cancel the process.
This feature is in addition to other security features on WhatsApp available today, including end-to-end encryption support for sending messages.
WhatsApp says they will continue to come up with new features to continue adding safety and security to their applications and services.
