The Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil has now shared that 5G network coverage in Malaysia has now reached 59.5% of populated areas, as of the end of April 2023.
In addition to overall figures, it was also shared that the percentage of 5G access in the state of Sarawak has reached 34% of the populated area. However, it is also emphasized that this achievement is still not sufficient, and needs to be improved.
Previously, the government had set a target for 5G network coverage in Malaysia to reach 80% of populated areas by the end of 2023.
