AirAsia Food is one of the applications introduced by AirAsia as a service that makes it easier for users to order food, and receive food at home - more or less like FoodPanda and Grab Food.
However, with fierce competition, now AirAsia Food is looking at several alternatives. Most recently, AirAsia announced a collaboration with FoodPanda, at the same time stating which AirAsia Food will switch to a purchase model at a restaurant.
With this move, AirAsia will connect AirAsia app users to the FoodPanda network, while AirAsia Food will focus on users who attend restaurants, and make purchases and order meals there.
For now, it is not yet known how the new in-store ordering feature on the AirAsia Foods app will work. From our own experience, this arena is led by Beepit today – allowing users to order from the table, and then pay directly on the app. Is it possible that AirAsia Food will challenge Beepit after this?
