Apple announced an agreement to sign a multibillion-dollar contract with Broadcom to manufacture 5G components in the United States. Through this collaboration, among those to be manufactured are 5G radio frequency components and FBAR filters. Manufacturing will be done at several Broadcom facilities in the United States.
This investment is part of a commitment made by Apple in 2021 to invest $430 billion in the U.S. economy. within five years. It responds to the challenge of the United States government which wants to increase the ability to produce the latest domestic technology after decades of moving facilities abroad such as China.
