Because Pixel 4 Advertising Is Not Transparent Google Pays RM36 Million Fine In Texas

Advertising is used to promote the product and let the public know about the advantages of the chestnuts that are to be sold. In traditional and social media, it has become impossible to escape from advertising. To sell the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, Google bought an advertising slot in Texas a few years ago. But because it was not transparent, Google agreed to pay a fine of $8 million (~RM36 million) to the state of Texas, USA.

In a radio ad, the DJ says they are using the Pixel 4 when in reality this is not the case as the device has never been used and has not yet been sold. Because the testimonials in the ad are fake, it violates Texas advertising laws. The fine was paid after Google was dragged to court.

Google previously also paid fines to the FTC for non-transparent advertising techniques in six other US states.
