Canon EOS R100 has been officially launched as another mirrorless camera aimed at users who are new to photography. It is also advertised with a more compact and light body, in addition to being marketed at a fairly affordable price so far.
This camera uses a 24.2 MP ASP-C sensor combined with a DIGIC 8 processing chip. It can be used with camera lenses under the RF and RFS series. It also supports cameras under the EF and EFS series when combined with the Canon EF-EOS R adapter which is sold separately.
Fast autofocus support can be enjoyed through the built-in Dual Pixel CMOS system that also relies entirely on electronic stabilization alone. Videos at 4K/60FPS settings can also be recorded, while FHD recording is also available. Eye Detection AF and Movie Digital IS functions in movie mode help ensure that the subject remains focused and stable during recording.
Built-in bluetooth and Wi-Fi support also allows users to share photos directly to social media. The Canon Camera Connect application must first be downloaded on a smart device for this purpose. In addition to single SD-UHS memory card support, a microphone and Micro HDMI input are also included.
Canon EOS R100 will be marketed from next July with a price starting at $479.99 (~RM2219) for the body only. Then upgrade to $599.99 (~RM2774) with the RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens. Next $829.99 (~RM2774) with RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM lenses.
