The collaboration between Zeiss and Nokia and Huawei and Leica is already legendary in the world of cellular phones. In both cases, the names of all the companies involved are becoming widely known and synonymous with good photography skills. Rumors surfaced through Digital Chat Station that Canon is now partnering with smartphone manufacturers.
This collaboration is similar to what Leica, Hasselblad and Zeiss are doing with Xiaomi, Oppo and Sony/Vivo now. It is not known which brands will work with Canon. Huawei is now happy with Xmage. Samsung, Google and Apple are also comfortable with their own camera systems without the involvement of third parties.
Canon has a well-respected reputation in the field of photography and videography at this time. If Canon's camera system could be used on a smartphone, it would certainly attract the attention of photography enthusiasts.
