The question about the processing chip that will be used on the Nothing Phone (2) has finally been answered. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip will be used as the mainstay of the device and this was confirmed by the CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei through one of the latest tweets.
Aware of being the subject of conversation, Carl Pei through the same tweet also shared more about the main differences found in their next generation devices. Carl Pei said the selection of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip was for a reason.
Among them such as Nothing Phone (2) is said to be able to offer up to 80% better performance with the process of opening applications twice as fast compared to the previous generation. This chip selection is also a better update than the Snapdragon 7 series on the Nothing Phone (1) before.
Where it is said to be able to provide a significant improvement for the whole including battery life, network connectivity, camera capabilities and so on.
Carl Pei added, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip generally supports 18-bit images that allow more than 4000 times the data to be captured on the image. As a result, the Nothing Phone (2) camera is able to offer advanced features such as RAW HDR and 4K/60fps recording.
Nothing Phone (2) will also continue to be optimized through many updates for a better user experience. The device is confirmed to arrive this year with no specific launch date shared for now.
