A while ago we reported that the web version of the Disney+ Hotstar application interface has been updated. Also updated is the iOS application which has the same neat design. Finally there is a feature to lock profiles from being accessed. This is a feature we wanted for a long time to prevent children from accessing Hotstar content that is not suitable for their age.
A four-digit pin can be placed on a user's profile and must be entered before it can be accessed. In the same application Disney+ Hotstar said personal profiles will be introduced in the near future. When activated later, more than one person can use the service without mixed content.
This interface has three main tabs namely Home, Search and My Space. On home there is a button only to display TV series, movies and Disney+ Hotstar original content. My Space displays a menu for switching profiles, connecting previous viewings and a list of favorite content.
Search is also getting smarter as it can display content based on genre and starring actors. This is a feature that is not well supported in previous versions of the application. At this time only the iOS application is updated with the Android version and Android TV still uses the old interface.
