Duh, the Redmi Note 12 Pro cellphone caught fire in the user's pocket

The Redmi Note 12 Pro has recently been launched globally, but this Xiaomi cellphone has stumbled on bad news. The cellphone was reportedly caught in the user's pocket in India.

Reported by Gizmochina, the user is named Naveen Dahiya. He bought the Redmi Note 12 Pro in February 2023.

On April 11, Naveen noticed smoke coming from his shirt pocket. It turns out that the source comes from the Redmi Note 12 Pro.

He then felt a burning sensation and found that the HP had started to burn. Naveen immediately threw the device on the ground so the fire would not touch his skin.

It is not yet clear what started the fire because at that time the cellphone was not being recharged. Naveen's Redmi Note 12 Pro was completely destroyed by fire.

"I hastily took my cellphone from my pocket and put it on the ground so it wouldn't catch fire. Thank God, there were no injuries on my body. However, the cellphone was completely destroyed. At the time of the incident the phone was not in use," Naveen tweeted. @naveendahiya159 which has now been deleted

After the incident, Naveen immediately contacted Redmi's customer service. Unfortunately not getting a response that satisfies him, because of that he threatened to take legal action if the matter was not taken seriously.

Xiaomi India has not made any official statement regarding the incident so far. However, the incident experienced by Naveen can serve as a reminder to users that cellphones can be dangerous if they malfunction.

Therefore, users are expected to always be careful to prevent potential fire incidents, for example using an original charger.
