Bank Negara Malaysia and Bank Indonesia have now announced the official introduction of a strategic collaboration feature, for the use and integration of QR code-based payments.
Through this integration, payments using QR codes between the DuitNow system and QRIS in Indonesia are linked. As a result, Malaysian users with digital wallets supporting DuitNow can pay in Indonesia by scanning the QRIS code.
The same is true for residents in Indonesia, who can make payments in Malaysia by scanning the DuitNow code using an application that supports QRIS.
With this move, it is expected to increase the economic rate between countries, especially involving spending when traveling between countries.
