One of the reasons why many people have an interest in learning Japanese is because of anime series. It's better to watch anime in the original language because of the context that may be lost in other language subtitles and audio. Duolingo announced their Japanese language course is now updated with the help of Crunchyroll.
A total of 50 Japanese phrases from the Anime will be used as teaching material on Duolingo. The collaboration between the two companies was done after a study found that 27% of Duolingo users want to learn English after watching anime.
Simultaneously with this announcement, Crunchyroll Premium customers can use Duolingo Premium for two days and Duolingo customers can access Crunchyroll without ads for the same period.
