E Ink is a well-known provider of ePaper technology, enabling multiple devices to be produced and offering the convenience of reading through it. This technology focuses the use of the battery for a long period, and at the same time provides comfort to the eyes.
Today, various digital book readers or eReaders that use this technology are produced by E Ink. Interestingly, now E Ingk announced a collaboration with MediaTek for the development of optimized chips for eReaders.
With the advantage of the expertise of these two parties, it is expected to bring the eReader market one step further. E Ink itself stated that they want to form the ePaper ecosystem, and this collaboration will facilitate their customers to choose a combination of supply chain partners that are tailored to good offerings and technology.
MediaTek is ready to offer a MT8113 chip for eReader, comes with a 12-nanometer design, 2.0Ghz processing power, in addition to supporting LPDDR4 memory, as well as supporting WiFi 5. This chip is used in the latest Amazon Kindle Scribe.
But, with the new collaboration between these two parties, it is expected to further enliven the eReader market, in addition to making it easier for other parties to join the eReader market with their respective offerings.
