Father of AI Leaves Google And Warns Of The Dangers Of Its Use

Geoffrey Hinton who is an individual who developed artificial intelligence technology (AI) has left Google and issued a warning about the use of technology that is seen as dangerous to humans. In an interview with the New York Times, Hinton said that with the rate of increase in AI's capabilities that is happening now it will probably exceed the capabilities of humans.

According to him, AI can be used for evil purposes by irresponsible individuals. For this reason Hinton regrets the work he did in the early stages of AI development. He left Google because he was already 75 years old. Despite criticism of that AI, Hinton did not criticize his former employer for saying Google was responsible for developing their artificial intelligence.

The issue of the dangers of AI is very popular in works of science fiction. In Terminator for example, AI Skynet reaches a level of consciousness that makes humans almost enemies in a nuclear weapon attack. This concern resurfaced with a movement to slow down the development of AI for a while to see its impact on human civilization in the near future.
