Fluus Is An Eco-Friendly Sanitary Napkin That Can Be Flushed Down The Toilet

Sanitary napkins should not be flushed down the toilet after use as they will expand before forming a lump that restricts the movement of water. In terms of pollution, one sanitary napkin has the same amount of plastic as four plastic bags. Although it is an important sanitary product, it produces high pollution.

A firm in the UK has developed Fluus which they say is the first sanitary pad that is environmentally friendly and can also be flushed down the toilet after use. It is made from plant-based cellulose. The blood-absorbing middle part is made of self-dissolving polymer and cellulose. Rubber from trees replaces conventional glue.

Through these three more soluble ingredients, Fluus will break when pumped and will not clog the toilet. When it arrives at the water processing plant, the Fluus component will be dissolved down to the size of an eyelash according to its designer. Fluus is now available on a monthly subscription at £5.00 for a pack of 15 pads and £15.00 for a pack of 45 pads.
