Google Showcases New Era of Search Powered by AI Generation Support

Google today touches more broadly on artificial intelligence, as well as the large investments that Google has made over the years. The DeepMind team under Google itself has won various tournaments and demonstrated the capabilities of their artificial intelligence.

At the Google I/O 2023 event held today, in addition to announcing the latest language model, PaLM 2, Google also showed a new era of their search powered by artificial intelligence generation support.

Google has dominated the search engine arena for the past 25 years, and with this artificial intelligence integration, Google aims to continue to lead the arena. Through this new era of Google Search, Google displays the answer to a search in the form of text at the top, as well as providing quick access to links that may interest users.

Users can then ask further questions, or scroll and access the list of links at the bottom.

With this move as well, Google is replacing the Knowledge Graph-powered part with artificial intelligence-based output. Google also stated that this allows users to perform more comprehensive searches at once, rather than doing separate searches one by one before.

For now, Google is only offering it in experimental form on Search Labs, limited to users in the United States first.
