Google Targets iPhone Users To Switch To Pixel Fold

Google Pixel Fold is Google's first device with a foldable screen after years of collaboration with Samsung in terms of software for the Galaxy Fold. The Pixel Fold is one of the devices in this category that is sold at a premium price.

Believe it or not Google is actually targeting iPhone users to switch to the Pixel Fold. This is because unlike the Malaysian market, in the United States manufacturers offer the opportunity to exchange old devices for new devices at a very reasonable price.

The Pixel Fold, which is sold at a starting price of $1799 (~RM8096), can be purchased by iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro users for a price of around $949 (~RM4271) to $899 (~RM4046) only. This is because the trade-in value offered is very high. For iPhone 14 Pro 128GB the new model in the US is sold at a price of $999 and Google gives a value of $900 while the 13 Pro which used to be also sold at a price of $999 after two years Google gives a value of $850.

When compared to Google's own devices, for example the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro which were sold at a price of $799 (~RM3596) and $899 (~RM4046) when launched, Google only gave a value of $380 (~RM1710) and $216.50 (~RM974). Making the Pixel Fold price around RM6386 or RM7144. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, which is sold at a price of $1799, interestingly received a relatively high price of $900 as well.

It's interesting to see Google's strategy of overvaluing the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro used prices approaching the value of new units. Providing users in the US can save a lot on getting this device. A disappointment to Android users as used devices do not have high value.

If in Malaysia, the Huawei Mate X3 is the most expensive which is RM8888 while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 with the same memory is sold at a price of RM7299. While the two cheaper options are Honor Magic Vs or Tecno Phantom V which are sold at RM5999 and RM5399.
