Google today announced the implementation of a new policy for Google accounts. According to Google, in an effort to improve security and avoid unused accounts becoming victims, Google is now updating its policy involving inactive accounts.
Starting this December 2023, Google will start deleting Google accounts that have been inactive for at least 2 years. This inactive account is labeled as an account that has not been used or logged in for a period of at least 2 years.
Google will delete not only accounts, but also content – including GMail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Youtube and even Google Photos. Google states that it will inform and send notifications many times before deleting an account.
For those of you who use a Google account, don't forget to log in at least once every two years to avoid your account disappearing along with the various contents on your Google account.
