Huawei P60 Pro was launched in Malaysia yesterday at a price of RM4699. In a review written by Maya, the device is praised for having impressive photography capabilities and satisfactory battery performance. For those who don't care about the Google ecosystem, the P60 Pro is an interesting device to own.
For us, the most unique thing about the P60 Pro lies in the 88W Huawei SuperCharge charger that comes with every purchase. It is the most unique ever offered by the world's smart device manufacturers.
Each 88W Huawei SuperCharge charger has two ports – one with a USB-C header and the other with a USB-A header. Typically, a given charger only comes with one USB-C or USB-A port. What Huawei has done is solving an issue that we have experienced for several years, which is the wrong way to bring the cable for the charger.
But Huawei's offering is still not perfect because this charger is designed to charge only one device. Both ports cannot be used simultaneously. This is probably intentional to avoid heating issues. Some of the chargers with multi-ports that we have reviewed before have larger bodies to disperse heat more efficiently.
Huawei may no longer be among the five largest smartphone manufacturers in the world right now. But they popularized the use of monochrome lenses, cooperation with popular camera companies and a robust night mode. It is hoped that Huawei's multi-head charger trend will also be followed by other manufacturers.
