Intel is expected to show their 14th generation processor chip series, their Meteor Lake in the second half of this year, and will show the use of a number of new technologies that have not been shown anywhere CPU for consumer class products before.
The main one is a new component in the Meteor Lake processing chip SoC called the Versatile Processing Unit (VPU). The use of this VPU chip is to enable this Meteor Lake CPU to use artificial intelligence technology in a built-in way, and not only to be able to move AI models, which is now seen as a technology that has been hotly talked about and used lately.
Since this is a product for consumers, Intel is not saying anything yet about the benefits of the capabilities of this artificial intelligence chip that it will offer. We expect that Intel will be present with a presentation about it during the Computex event that will take place soon.
But what is more interesting is that Intel also said that they want to sell millions of units of Meteor Lake processing chips within a year after this processing chip is launched, and our expectation is that this includes sales of desktop-class processing chips as well as laptops and data center chips based on the technology this.
