WWDC will take place in just a few weeks and now information about new features in iOS 17 is starting to trickle out into the web arena. According to Bloomberg, iOS 17 will have a smart screen mode when the device is placed in landscape position and the screen is locked.
With this mode Apple does not have to offer its own smart screen like the Google Nest Hub but rather the existing device can be used as a control hub for internet-things devices in the home. A charging dock can be used at home for this mode. Previously it was rumored that Apple wants to develop a HomePod with a built-in screen so that it has the same features as the Nest Hub.
In the same report Bloomberg also said improvements will be made to the AirPlay system in iOS 17. It will make it easier for iOS 17 users to stream content on their iPhone directly to TVs with AirPlay support that are not theirs. Apple is said to be working with hotels to support this feature on smart TVs in customer rooms.
