JBL is one of the well-known audio product manufacturers. Most of their products are known for their good specifications, great audio quality, premium listening experience at affordable prices. For those who don't know JBL is a brand under Harman International which is fully owned by Samsung.
This brand is still active in Malaysia and recently they started selling the JBL Bar series which is a home theater set which is a new soundbar set with a price of thousands of ringgit.
JBL Bar 1300
JBL Bar 1300 is their most premium soundbar set with support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and MultiBeam Surround Sound that provides 3D audio. This soundbar also has two speakers that can be removed and placed in the best location for the user such as behind the sofa.
This soundbar is also a smart speaker set with built-in Alexa, AirPlay and Chromecast support. It uses 1170W power, a 10″ wireless subwoofer, can perform calibration easily, can be a regular Bluetooth speaker, has a PureVoice feature to improve vocals and supports HDMI eARC with 4K Dolby Vision passthrough.
The JBL Bar 1300 soundbar is equipped with 6x racetrack drivers 46×90 mm, 5x 0.75″ tweeters, 4x 2.75″ audio drivers firing upwards and also has a 10″ subwoofer. On the removable speakers there is 1x 6x 46×90 mm racing circuit driver, 1x 0.75″ tweeter and 1x 2.75″ audio driver firing upwards and 2x 48×69 mm passive radiators. For connectivity there is 1x optical, Bluetooth, USB-A and HDMI eARC. The battery is 6600mAh with a durability of 12 hours.
JBL Bar 1300 is sold in Malaysia at a price of RM7999.
JBL Bar 1000
JBL Bar 1000 is also a premium soundbar set but with a lower power of only 880W. Then the internal specifications are 5x 46×90 mm lumbar circuit drivers, 3x 0.75″ tweeters, 2x 2.75″ upward firing drivers and 1x 10″ subwoofer. While on the removable speaker it uses 1x tweeter 0.75″ and 1x audio driver 2.75″ shoot up. The battery is smaller at 3283mAh.
Also available are two speakers on the soundbar that can be removed. Other specifications such as 4K Dolby Vision passthrough support, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, MultiBeam Surround Sound, Alexa, AirPlay and Chromecast are retained. The selling price is RM4999.
JBL Bar 800
This model is in the basic premium category. JBL Bar 800 supports True Dolby Atmos Surround Sound, still comes with two removable speakers, remains with AirPlay, Chromecast support, but the power is limited to 720W only. Also don't forget the 10″ subwoofer is still included.
For internal specifications it only has 3x 46×90 mm lumbar circuit drivers, 3x 0.75″ tweeters, 2x 2.75″ upward firing drivers and 1x 10″ subwoofer. The detachable speaker only uses 1x 46×90 mm racing circuit driver with the same battery as the JBL Bar 1000 which is 3283mAh. The selling price is cheap RM1000 which is RM3999.
JBL Bar 500
This is probably one of the most popular models because it is a premium mid-range soundbar with the same features as the 1300 and 1000 models, which support Dolby Atmos and MultiBeam Surround Sound. Only the power is limited to 590W only. Other features and specifications are the same including 4K Dolby Vision passthrough, Chromecast and AirPlay. The most notable difference is that it does not have a removable speaker.
The soundbar configuration is 4x 46×90 mm lumbar circuit drivers, 3x 0.75″ tweeters and 1x 10″ subwoofer. It also has no battery as it needs to be constantly connected to a power plug. The selling price is RM2999.
JBL Bar 300
Last but not least is the JBL Bar 300 which is the cheapest of all the soundbars launched today. Specifications approaching the JBL Bar 500 but only 260W power and no foreign subwoofer as it is present as built-in. This means that the bass may not be as strong as other models but all the interesting features and functions can be used. The selling price of this model is RM2399.
