The Leica Q3 is officially launched as another new full-frame compact camera. It is a continuation of the Leica Q2 with some interesting upgrades. For example, it uses a 60.3MP CMOS BIS sensor generated by the Leica Maestro IV processor with L² Technology (L squared Technology). This is an improvement over the 47.2 Megapixel sensor in the previous generation.
Then it is also combined with the Summilux 28 f/1.7 ASPH lens which is integrated with a dedicated macro mode for taking photos as close as 17mm. Video recording can be made up to 8K which is another interesting improvement compared to the 4K recording on the Leica Q2. However, Cine4K, 4K and FHD recording options are still available here.
Then there is also the ability to shoot RAW video recorded as Apple ProRes RAW. This recording experience becomes better with the help of an AI-based hybrid autofocus system that will ensure that the subject can be detected well with satisfactory focus.
On the back panel there is a 3-inch tiltable TFT LCD screen. Meanwhile, the EVF uses an OLED screen with 1,843,200 dots. Apart from that, this camera is also equipped with USB-C and HDMI ports, while also supporting a wireless charging system.
In addition, the Leica FOTOS application can also be downloaded to further simplify the process of transferring data to other devices. The Leica Q3 is sold in Malaysia with a retail price of RM29,570.
