Majority of Pos Malaysia Infrastructure Powered by AWS End 2023

In last week's AWS Summit ASEAN event, while sharing about AWS service updates and collaboration in the public sector in the region, they also shared about their collaboration with one of the oldest companies in Southeast Asia, which is Pos Malaysia.

Pos Malaysia was established around the 1800s, and was known as The Straits Settlements Postal And Telegraph Service - and sent messages between the strait states, all over the world. In the face of modernisation, Pos Malaysia's services are not limited to logistics, even including Pos Aviation.

Sharing more about the collaboration between AWS and Pos Malaysia, this year is an important year for Pos Malaysia where almost all of their technology infrastructure will be powered by AWS services by the end of this year. They have already migrated around 60 critical applications to AWS since June 2022 and this is a time consuming process considering they have more than 140 applications built in the past.

This transfer of services to AWS includes mail and package tracking, their retail systems, human resources and more. All these transfers can be completed without any service interruption. In fact, with the sophistication of artificial intelligence through Amazon SageMaker, they can manage delivery more efficiently even in the season when there is a lot of mail and parcel delivery.

Apart from Pos Malaysia, various companies and also the public sector have started using AWS such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Bank Islam, Selangor State Delivery Unit, and many more. Even AWS is active for PMKS, and offers free AWS credit up to RM 373K through the AWS Lift program.
