The latest MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chip has been officially launched with it being another chip produced using 6nm technology. In terms of specifications, Dimensity 8050 comes with 1x Cortex-A78 3GHZ core, 3x Cortex-A78 2.6Ghz core and 4x Cortex-A55 2.0GHz core paired with Arm Mali-G77 GPU.
The chip can support camera sensors up to 200MP, QHD+ screens up to 90Hz, 4K video recording, HDR10+ and AV1 video codecs natively. Two 5G SIMs can be used simultaneously. LDDDR4x memory up to 16GB and UFS 3.1 storage are also supported. Despite the new name, the core CPU and GPU configurations are the same as the Dimensity 1300 and Dimensity 1200. The only difference is the now faster GPU.
