Edge 40 was introduced as a premium device at a more affordable price from Motorola. It uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chip as well as being a device that supports 5G built-in. This is matched with a combination of 8GB RAM LPDDR4X memory and 256GB UFS3.1 internal storage.
The screen used is 6.55-inch FHD+ with a refresh rate of 144Hz which also passes HDR10+ certification. A 50MP + 13MP dual-camera system is included which also supports maximum 4K recording. The selfie camera is 32MP which is placed in a small hole on the front panel.
A 4400mAh battery is loaded on the device with a 68W wired fast charging system. It also supports a 15W wireless charging system as an additional feature. Other specifications include Dolby Atmos tuned stereo speakers, NFC, IP68, bluetooth 5.2 support and a USB-C port.
The selling price of the device is £529.99 (RM2,966) with color options such as Nebula Green, Lunar Blue and Eclipse Black.
