JomHack is now organizing the PayHack 2023 24-Hour Hackathon competition with a focus on opening opportunities and developing new innovative solutions in improving the digital payment ecosystem in Malaysia.
It is open to any individual/group with expertise in a particular field through the joint organization of Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), Microsoft, MDEC, My Startup and Cradle. For example, such as the field of Digital Identity, Financial Crime, Data Analysis as well as Information Security & Quality Assurance.
The competition is divided into four types of challenges and each group (consisting of 3-5 members, at least one coding) has to choose one of them to complete. As an option they can also choose more than a challenge if related to the project being made.
Among the challenges provided are security & fraud, efficiency, sustainability and financial inclusion. Each selected challenge must be completed continuously within 24 hours and only selected teams will be invited to participate in the physical event that will take place on 27 & 28 May 2023 in Kuala Lumpur.
A cash prize worth up to RM20,000 is offered for the first place winner along with a trophy and certificate of participation. It was then followed by RM15,000 for second place, RM5,000 for third place and RM1,000 consolation for fourth to tenth place. At the same time, special awards will also be celebrated in this competition.
