Pixel Watch 2 Will Come With Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 Chip And Better Battery

According to a 9to5 Google report, the Google Pixel Watch 2 will be launched this year at the same time as the Pixel 8 series. The information known so far is that the Pixel Watch 2 will change from the Exynos chip on the debut model to the more powerful Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip. This is probably a smart move as one of the issues with the original Pixel Watch was the use of an aging chip.

The Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip has a dedicated low-power secondary CPU to control the Always on Display (AOD) system. This will ensure that the Pixel Watch 2 can operate for up to 24 hours even with AOD enabled. In addition, this smart watch will also be equipped with a FitBit Sense 2 sensor that can track various health data of the wearer more accurately.

Last year the Pixel Watch was not very well received even though its design was quite interesting. With Google redoubled efforts to support Wear OS with the help of Samsung, the Pixel Watch 2 may have hopes of becoming the smartwatch of choice for Android users.
