Project Gameface Uses Face Tracking Instead of a Computer Mouse

I label myself as a video game enthusiast. What I have realized is that since reaching the age of 40 and having been immersed in the gaming world for more than three decades, finger movements are no longer as fast as they used to be due to the age factor. But for some individuals with disabilities, it is almost impossible to enjoy video games because there is no good device or software support.

Google has shown Project Gameface which allows people with disabilities who cannot use conventional input devices such as a mouse to control video games using their faces.

The Project Gameface camera tracks 468 points on the player's face, with the help of AI every facial movement is used to control the character in the video game. Mouth opening, nose location, and eye view can also be used as control inputs through Project Gameface.

Google launched this project as open source through Google MediaPipe. Users only need to have a computer and a normal web camera to use Project Gameface now as a mouse replacement.
