Resso is a music streaming platform from the creators of TikTok, ByteDance. This service was introduced by India 3 years ago and in 2022 they expanded to Brazil and Indonesia with plans to launch it to twelve more countries.
Like TikTok, Resso is also a social media platform that only focuses on music. Users can also share lyrics, find trending songs on TikTok, free to use and premium experience can be subscribed for as low as RM6 per month.
Recently Resso has been updated to become a fully premium music streaming platform. This means that free usage with ads will no longer be offered and users will have to pay a subscription to stream favorite songs. This change will be made starting May 11.
By changing this service strategy Resso can provide users with an ad-free experience, the ability to generate lyrics, download for offline listening and help support artists.
According to Sensor Tower Resso has been downloaded 250 million times. In the music and audio category on the App Store and Play Store, Resso ranks second to fifth in Indonesia, Brazil and India.
