For two days in a row, hundreds of thousands of Coldplay fans tried to buy tickets for the concert that will take place next November. Hundreds of thousands are also only able to roll their eyes after all the tickets have been bought. But immediately after the tickets were announced by the organizers, there were advertisements that they were being sold openly through e-commerce sites and social media, causing the anger of those who could not afford to buy them.
With anger beginning to be shared on social media, the Minister of the Ministry of Digital Communications Fahmi Fadzil has ordered the Communications and Multimedia Commission to investigate the activity of reselling Coldplay tickets by ticket maggots or "scalpers". Until yesterday hundreds of tickets could be seen being resold at a much higher price.
In a viral incident, tickets costing RM1288 category 1 were resold at a price of RM43,000. Fahmi Fadzil also said that he will discuss the issue of this concert ticket worm with the Minister of Domestic Trade & Cost of Living Salahuddin Ayub. He reminded people to only buy tickets through official channels and if they become victims of fraud, immediately report to the police.
