At the AWS Summit ASEAN event, various updates related to the ASEAN market including updates on AWS initiatives towards the public sector and local companies. One of their partnerships is about Tapway VehicleTrack which provides solutions for PLUS Malaysia Berhad.
Tapway VehicleTrack is a startup that is active in vehicle identification, where it is not limited to the vehicle's registration number, it is even capable of identifying the type of vehicle, vehicle brand and even the color of the vehicle.
This recognition also allows toll payments to be made based on the vehicle category, such as private vehicles having different toll rates from taxis and lorries, thereby reducing the risk of fraud that could lead to a reduction in PLUS Malaysia's toll operation income.
Tapway which uses this AWS infrastructure has just received the AWS Smart City Competency certification on April 21, 2023, which this certification program recognizes the ability of a startup that uses AWS in providing smart city solutions.
