The Encryption Feature On Twitter DMs Is Limited To Twitter Blue Users Only

End-to-end or end-to-end encryption features on messaging platforms are usually free. WhatsApp, Signal, Messenger, iMessage and others. Developers will continue to offer this feature automatically to protect users.

Through the encryption of content in the chat room such as all text, pictures and so on will not be accessed by anyone. Yesterday Twitter DM was updated with threading features and more emojis for reactions with Elon Musk confirming encryption on DM messages will also be provided.

But what is not told is that the encryption on this DM is limited to paid users only. Means individual Twitter Blue users, organizational users who pay RM4500 per month and users under organizations who pay RM230 per month.

Encryption will also only occur if the recipient and sender are using the latest version of Twitter, have sent a DM, have approved receiving a DM, and are required to follow each other. This feature is also limited to individual messaging and does not support groups and is limited to text and links only. Twitter also insists that although text and links have been encrypted metadata such as when the message is sent is not.

In the DM column you will also see that DMs that have encryption will have a mango icon to distinguish them from normal DMs.
